The UNO Men’s basketball team ended their season this past weekend in their first ever Summit League Conference tournament in Sioux Falls South Dakota, which also was their first Division one Conference tournament.
UNO fell to Denver University 78-70 in the first round of the tournament, ending any types of dreams to make the NCAA tournament.
Starting forward Tre’Shawn Thurman says at halftime they really had to come together as a group and the second half was completely different.
“We picked up our defense and we had better hands, and you could just see we were a different team in the second half.”
With possibly being able to play in another post-season tournament head coach Derrin Hansen says he wants this season to continue.
“I hope this isn’t our last game, I like this team a lot, well look back after a while when its all done if there is another tournament or not, but I like what we did this year.”
UNO finished their season with a 18-13 record and a conference record of 10-7.
The question the team is facing now is if they will be in a post-season tournament.
