Omaha Volleyball picked to finish sixth in Summit

The Omaha Volleyball team was recently picked to finish sixth in the 2015 Summit League Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Omaha tied with Fort Wayne, receiving 32 points. Defending league champion Denver was voted to win the division followed by IUPUI, North Dakota State, Oral Roberts and South Dakota. After Omaha and Fort Wayne’s sixth place tie, South Dakota State and Western Illinois round out the bottom half in eighth and ninth respectively. The Omaha volleyball team hosted their annual Black/White scrimmage this weekend and will begin their season at the UNLV Invitational, Aug. 28-29.

Get soccer season tickets by buying a scarf

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is offering soccer fans an official game scarf with their purchase of season tickets. Except you leave the ticket office with only the scarf and not the tickets. The university decided to do away with physical tickets last year. Fans must present their scarves at each men’s and women’s home game for admission.The scarves are on sale for $40 and may be purchased at the UNO Athletic Ticket Office at Sapp Fieldhouse and at The Maverick women are scheduled to play 10 home games beginning Aug. 16. The men have nine home matches, opening the season against Washington on Aug. 22.
