President Obama will speak at Baxter Arena on Wednesday, beginning at 1 p.m., one day after the State of Union Address.

Due to security, it is recommended to get there beforehand.

Tickets to the event are free and open to the public, they’ll be available starting today from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the following three locations:

  • Metro Community College Fort Omaha Campus
  • Baxter Arena
  • Salvation Army Kroc Center

Distribution of tickets will continue Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at all three locations until they run out.

Obama wants to engage with Nebraskans about “the progress we’ve made and how we can continue taking action in the next year to help hardworking Americans get ahead.”

Obama’s only other visit to Nebraska was a brief. On Aug. 13, 2012, he landed at Offutt Air Force Base and traveled to Council Bluffs to campaign.
