The Omaha softball team went 2-3 in the ASU Hornet Tournament over the weekend. The Mavericks are now 6-9 on the year.
Game 1 vs. Akron: L 5-4
• Nicole Warren solo home run
• Lizze Noble pitched 3 and 1/3 innings, giving up 3 unearned runs
Game 2 vs. Eastern Kentucky: L 7-2
• Campell Ditto went 1-1 with a walk and an RBI
• Abbie Clanton pitched 2.1 innings, allowing one run and striking out one
Game 3 vs. Howard: W 13-2
• Lizzie Noble picked up her first win of the season, pitching 5 innings and giving up 2 runs
• Alexis Parker went 2-2 with a walk, a triple, a base hit and 2 RBI
Game 4 vs. Alabama St.: W 7-0
• Omaha scored in all five innings of the game
• Nicole Warren hit a grand slam to left field
• Laura Roecker earned her third win of the season after pitching a complete game shutout
Game 5 vs. Gardner Webb: L 12-6
• Laura Roecker pitched 3.0 innings allowing 2 runs
• Lia Mancuso went 1-1 with a double and 2 RBI
The Mavericks return to action next weekend when they will compete in five games at the Colorado State Tournament in Fort Collins.
