Free Comic Book Day is Saturday


Each year on the first Saturday of May, comic books shops across the country give away free comic books to anyone who walks through the door.

That day has come — again.

On Saturday, nearly 20 Omaha area locations will take part in Free Comic Book Day.

You can find your closest shop by typing your zip code into the Comics Shop Locator on the page.

Some of Omaha’s participating stores include:

>> Legend Comics and Coffee, 5207 Leavenworth St.

>> Ground Zero Hobby, 4601 S. 50th St. and 794 Fort Crook Road South in Bellevue.

>> Dragon’s Lair, 2227 N. 91st Plaza and 5022 S. 153rd S.t

>> Krypton Comics, 2819 S. 125th Ave., Suite 261

The Omaha Public Library has gotten in on all of the excitement, too. All 12 of its branches will participate by having free comic book titles to give away.
