UNO’s Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity is raising awareness of homelessness this week. In addition, they’re collecting canned goods for The Salvation Army’s food pantry.
Members have camped out at a Crossroads Mall parking lot in 16 houses they’ve built out of cardboard, zip ties and duct tape.
The fraternity’s goal is to collect 40,000 canned goods, said Tanner Johnson, event chair.
Donations can be dropped off at the Crossroads Mall site or at any Omaha Fire Stations through Friday.
