Femme Fest calls for festival submissions

Benson First Friday Femme Fest will hold its second annual event on Sept. 2. Femme Fest is a festival focused on commending women in the Omaha and Lincoln music scenes.

In 2015’s inaugural event, more than 600 people had the opportunity to watch 44 bands play 7 venues in Benson.

The festival is hosted by Rebecca Lowry of Omaha pop-soul band All Young Girls Are Machine Guns, Emily Cox of E3 Music Management, Benson First Friday and One Percent Productions.

Submissions opened Wednesday and will be open until April 2. All ages are invited to submit as long as the band has at least one woman representative. There is no restriction on music genre, and participating musicians will be compensated.

Email bfffemmefest@gmail.com for any questions and to enter a submission for the festival. To submit, email a subject as “BFFFF Band Submission,” and tell the name of the band and the name of the woman or women in the band.
