“I felt a rush of emotions,” Bailey said. “A rush of love for the women I step on the floor with everyday.”

Senior middle Megan Schmale and sophomore setter Sydney O’Shaughnessy, along with Bailey were named to the All-Summit Team.

Schmale led the Summit League in blocks, block assists and blocks per set in 2015. She was named to the All-Summit League Team last year as well.

Coach Shires capped off the awards ceremony as she was named Coach of the Year by the Summit League conference coaches. Shires led Omaha to a 17-12 (12-4 Summit League) record in her 26th year at the helm and fifth year in Division I. Shires is now 473-342 in her career at UNO, making her the winningest coach in school history.
