UNO women's soccer traveled to North Dakota last weekend, defeating North Dakota 2-1 on Friday, and dropping a 3-1 decision to North Dakota State on Sunday afternoon. With the split the Mavs move to 3-3-2 on the season, and are half way through their current eight game road trip.
In 2011 the UNO men's soccer team was brand new and expectations were tempered by the uphill climb of starting a new program. Then the Mavs exceeded those expectations and won their first game 2-1 at UMKC.
A month into the season, women's soccer has yet to close the deal. Hard work is supposed to be rewarded.
The Mavs only managed one late goal and fell 2-1 in a Saturday night matchup with future Summit League foe UMKC. Taylor Bare had both goals for the Kangaroos, who won their first home game of the season and just their second game of the year.
