Women’s tennis downs Oral Roberts
Omaha defeated Oral Roberts in Tulsa on Saturday Morning 5-2. Singles winners were Michelle Lo, Jacqueline Baude, Kenzie Hill and Allison Johnson. Doubles swept with Michelle Lo/Jacqueline Baude, Molly Matricardi/Kenzie Hill and Allison Johnson/Rebecca Staffordall winning. The Mavericks will host Denver on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Miracle Hills Golf and Tennis Center.
Baseball goes 2-1 in Atlanta over the weekend
The men’s baseball team won their series with Chicago State 2-1 over the weekend. The big story on the weekend is the no-hitter thrown on Saturday by Seniors Zach Williamsen and Tyler Hamer. Their overall record on the season after this weekend is 3-3. The Mavericks will play Wichita State in Kansas on Tuesday before traveling to Florida this weekend for the Snowbird Classic, their busiest weekend of the season.
Hockey swept in Minnesota
The Mavericks suffered their first sweep of the season this weekend as they were defeated 4-3 on Friday and 2-0 Saturday. Saturday’s shutout loss was UNO’s first of the season. The loss drops the Mavericks to third in the NCHC and leaves their bid to host a quarter–final up in the air. The Mavericks travel to Duluth to take on UMD this weekend with only one point on the Bulldogs.
Men’s tennis falls to North Dakota
North Dakota handed UNO their sixth loss on the season Saturday. The Mavericks dropped to 3-6 on the season after losing 5-2 to UND. Marko Minic and Nathan Greteman were the only singles winners for the Mavericks while Greteman and Colin Buckley combined for the only doubles victory.
