On Sept. 25, Maverick Productions put on a showing of “22 Jump Street” in the pep bowl for all University of Nebraska at Omaha students. The event was a big hit among many and close to 300 people showed up.
The event coordinator of “Mavs on the Green,” Heba Elbard, put a lot of time and effort into making sure everything turned out like it was supposed to. The bugs were a problem in the pep bowl so a few Mav Pro members took off to Walmart to purchase bug spray.
It was advertised that the first 300 people to show up would receive free Auntie Anne’s pretzels; pop and popcorn were served to everyone who attended.
“I liked that they had snacks and drinks, which is my favorite because I love food and there was a really good turn out,” Kamisha Duncan said.
The response to the evening was the same among all of the students who attended: it was a big hit and they can not wait until Maverick Productions puts on its next event.
