A giant paper airplane will be installed near the Lincoln Airport in early June.

The $100,000 sculpture is called “Pitch, Roll & Yaw” and was designed by local artist Shannon Hansen.

It looks like a paper plane but is made out of metal.

The sculpture, 32 1/2 feet long, 20 feet wide and 5 1/2 feet tall, was created from formed and fabricated steel that is painted with a polyurethane matte clear coat, according to information provided by the Lincoln’s Parks and Recreation Department.

The sculpture was commissioned by the city but funded through a private donation from Duncan Aviation.
