Omega Psi Phi fraternity is teaming up with Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity for a panel-style discussion, “While You Were Thinking,” this week.
The event will focus on the thoughts, ideas and wants of women and how they translate to men, said Phil Foster, Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity member.
The panel will feature representatives from the majority of UNO’s fraternities and sororities. Panelists will answer questions posed by moderator Dustin Wolfe, Greek Life adviser.
Wolfe will ask questions about why women say one thing but mean another and if firing women for being too attractive can be justified in the workplace.
“There are no limits,” Foster said. “This is honesty in its truest form. It’s no holds barred.”
The event is for anyone, Foster stressed, not just those already involved in Greek life.
“The goal is to reach outside the boundaries and expand outside of Greek life,” Foster said.
It’s expanding even within Greek life, he added. They may even look to do similar panel discussions in the future.
“This is 90 minutes to come together around one topic,” Foster said. “We want to show that fraternities are not stereotypes.”
