Eleven movies to look for in 2011

Only a few weeks into the new year, there is still promise that 2011 may be an excellent year for movies. Here is a list of 11 movies coming this year that are making news:

Contagion– Starring Matt Damon and Jude Law, this action-thriller is based on a threat posed by a deadly disease as a team of doctors tries to deal with the outbreak.

Green Lantern– Starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, this movie focuses on a test pilot who is granted a green ring that gives him superhero powers and the task of keeping peace within the universe.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II– In the final Harry Potter movie Harry, Ron and Hermione will return to Hogwarts to find and destroy Voldemort’s final horcruxes.

Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides– In the fourth installment of Pirates, Jack Sparrow and Barbosa will embark on an adventure to find the fountain of youth.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not!– Starring Jim Carey, no description is available of this movie yet.

The First Avenger: Captain America – When Steve Rogers is deemed unfit for military service he volunteers for a top secret research project which turns him into superhero Captain America.

The Giver– This movie is based on the Lois Lowry novel about a young boy living in a futuristic community where all emotion is removed from society.

The Hangover: Part II – A sequel to the ever-popular movie The Hangover.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part One – Based on the final book in Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga, the Quileute and the Volturi are after expecting parents Edward and Bella whose unborn child poses a threat to the both of them.

Thor – Starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman, the powerful warrior Thor is cast out of Asgard and sent to live among humans on Earth.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon – The Autobots hear of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon and they race against the Decepticons to find it and learn its secrets.
