A new local coffee shop is filling up another tenant in the Aksarben Village area.
Owners Martha Barbour and Dave Barbour have wanted to open a coffee shop for a while. They plan to have roasted coffee, local Omaha baked-goods and live music within the shop.
Roast will be opened around Memorial Day weekend, just in time for summer. The Barbours hope to participate in Stinson Park events, farmer markets and live concert events.
Just a block away from the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Pacific Campus, the coffee shop will also look to accommodate the needs of UNO students.
Right now, they ship their coffee nationwide. Eventually, within the new shop, they hope to create a roasting class. They will also stock brewing equipment for easy pick-up.
Within Roast, there will also be places for people to have private events while enjoying coffee and a pastry.
On their website, people can purchase straight roasts, flavored or blends. They also offer seasonal flavors.
Their goal is to provide every customer with the freshest roasted coffee from the largest selection available.
