Men’s Soccer Achieves Landmark Weekend

A comeback win Friday night and the first-ever home game Sunday highlighted the UNO men's soccer inaugural weekend.  In a matchup with two different conference champions from a year ago, the Mavs showed their mettle beating one and having several chances against the other.

Hard work unrewarded

Less than 48 hours after picking up the first win of the year, UNO women's soccer was shutout by conference favorite Oakland 1-0 and dropped to 1-11, 1-1 in conference.  The Golden Grizzlies' Abigail Haelewyn had the lone score of the afternoon, scoring from 14 yards out on the right side of the Mav penalty area.

Mastodons master the Mavs

All-Summit League forward Max Touloute came off the bench to spark his team to three goals in 15 minutes, and Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne finished off UNO 6-0 Sunday afternoon.  Facing their second future conference foe of the season, the Mavs were unable to capture the magic they found against Summit League member UMKC on Aug. 26.
