When Jason Mims was hired as the first ever men's soccer coach at UNO, he took on a position full of challenges. It was April 22, a little more than four months away from the start of the season, and Mims was the only piece in place.
The Mavs traveled to Washington last weekend earning a 1-1 draw at St. Martin's on Thursday and falling 5-0 to Seattle Pacific on Saturday. With just one goal on the weekend, UNO is still trying to find a consistent scoring threat on the roster.
All-Summit League forward Max Touloute came off the bench to spark his team to three goals in 15 minutes, and Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne finished off UNO 6-0 Sunday afternoon. Facing their second future conference foe of the season, the Mavs were unable to capture the magic they found against Summit League member UMKC on Aug. 26.
