Every time I think about what took place at Penn St. last week, I feel like I need to take a shower.  The revelations were horrifying.  The conspiracy was shocking.  The student reaction was embarrassing. As it was all unraveling in State College, Penn., the true nature of things was finally revealed to the rest of the world.  Joe Paterno had become the Queen of England.

Men’s golf ends season with two top 5s

The men's golf team had a busy weekend competing at the Hotels at Grand Prairie Invitational Friday and Saturday in Peoria, Ill., then returning to Nebraska for the Midland Invite in Fremont on Monday.  Though it might have been a busy travel schedule, the Mavs didn't show it on the course.

When Ryan Massa suited up to start in net for UNO's exhibition against the U.S. Under-18 Team, the consequences may not have been clear.   According to NCAA rules, any student-athlete past freshman year surrenders his or her redshirt for participation in an exhibition game.
Thus, Massa's time between the pipes just weeks after rejoining the program means he is now officially using his second year of college eligibility.

Former All-American joins men’s soccer staff

It was announced July 18 that former Creighton goalkeeper Brian Holt agreed to join the UNO soccer staff as goalkeeper's coach for 2012.  Holt is currently finishing up his first professional soccer season with the United Soccer League's Harrisburg City Islanders and will be in Omaha in late August.
