Influential philosopher visits UNO

"I read Descartes when I was very young," said Saul Kripke, philosopher, teacher and genius, before a sizable audience Tuesday in the Arts and Sciences building.  "I thought, ‘philosophy is a terrible subject, very confusing.'"


New mode of transportation opens up for UNO students

Starting Tuesday, Feb. 1, students will be able to take a new form of transportation to and from the University of Nebraska-Omaha at no cost. The Omaha Metro bus system has partnered with UNO to provide 400 free student bus passes for the Spring 2011 semester.


UNO, Kabul University rekindle 34-year-old relationship

Mentoring would reduce rising violence

Just 20 minutes away from UNO last April, a barrage of bullets claimed another victim in Omaha's increasingly violent gang war. Killed outside a grocery store in North Omaha, the victim, 19-year old Devon Brown, was the same age as many current UNO students.
