It's your first semester at UNO and on a bigger campus. It might be intimidating, especially for those of us whose mode of mobility isn't the usual two feet. For those who use wheels to get around, there is additional stress the first few weeks of college. But if you think creatively and try some unique routes, you might feel a bit more confident during your transition to university life.
Student Government passed a measure that will offer an alternative approach to campus transportation. On Sept. 20, student senators voted to introduce a system known as ZipCar to UNO.
As students, we want to know our voices are being heard on campus.
For 5,278 randomly selected freshmen and seniors, filling out a simple survey will make sure that happens.
Every three years, UNO has students take the National Survey of Student Engagement or NSSE.
The survey collects information about student participation in programs and activities provided for their learning and personal development.
The UNO Career Center has offered résumé review, mock interviews, career exploration and more since it started, but they are working on adding a new service for students. Just this month, they launched the Career Closet.
The Career Closet will provide clean and modern professional clothing for student use at career fairs, interviews and internships, for free.
Students can also vote online at sguno.unomaha.edu. The online poll is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today
Election results will follow in the fireplace lounge in the student center at 8 p.m. today.
Omaha's cycling community is growing and working to make cycling safer. UNO is working toward that same goal.
