Sparks flew and the audience cheered as Taylor Swift took the Qwest Center stage on May 28. Kicking off her "Speak Now" tour with two shows in Omaha, Swift opened the concert with the song "Sparks Fly," and true to the song lyrics, the audience was showered with sparklers held by Swift's performers as they floated above the stage.
More than 100 people gathered Friday night in room 101 of the CPACS building to hear and see evidence of the paranormal. UNO's Paranormal Society put together the 2011 Paranormal Summit. Admission was $5 per person and the event was held from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The American hip-hop duo from Minneapolis known as Atmosphere will take the stage at the Slowdown club on September 27. Slowdown is located downtown and doubles as a bar and music venue, so anyone under 18 years of age must have a notarized parental permission slip to attend the concert.
