Omaha’s first match took place on Thursday night. The Mavericks faced Kansas State and fell 3-1. Despite the loss, Omaha’s Meagan Roth finished with a doubledouble posting 10 kills and 15 digs along with two blocks, while teammate Abby Bergsten also finished with a double-double recording 11 kills and 13 digs. Senior Sydney O’Shaugnessy led the team with a season-high 21 digs.

Friday night, the Mavericks took on the Panthers of Northern Iowa and were defeated in 4 sets with an overall game record of 3-1. Freshman Claire Mountjoy tallied a season-best effort of 28 digs, while Senior Amanda Conlin recorded a season-high six blocks. Other Mavericks followed suit as Gessica Gdowski collected 13 digs and seven kills on the night, and both Mackenzie Horkey and O’Shaughnessy each accounted for a double-double as well.

The weekend finale ended with a head-to-head match between the Mavericks and the Cornhuskers of Lincoln. Despite the Mavericks tough fight, they fell short in a 3-0 effort from the Huskers. O’Shaugnessy finished with 23 assists on the night, and Horkey led the way in kills, tallying nine of her own.

The Mavericks move to 3-10 on the season after this weekend and head into conference play this week, facing SDSU on Friday at 7 p.m. at Baxter Arena.
