I am concerned about the parking problem at campus. It’s not fair that we pay for a permit and spend 20 minutes looking for a parking spot. Rather than coming in with a personal wish list of issues ,I’ve kept in mind that my job would be to represent fellow students and to be attentive to their issues.  So instead, I’m running on three principles: approachability, candor and responsiveness.  I will be available to those that need me.  I will be open and honest about what I can do to help you and what steps I’m taking to resolve your issue, or I will tell you if I cannot.  I will respond right away and keep you abreast of developments as they occur.

Allen Bentley

Jordan Koch

Issues of most concern to candidate:

First, the lack of school spirit. UNO has drastically shifted from a commuter college, but I feel that students still feel that UNO doesn’t compare to larger universities like UNL. I want to change that. Second, I feel that student involvement on campus is lacking. There are many organizations that students can be involved in, and I hope to promote them and get a better student turnout. Third, I am concerned about the current grading system. Many students have complained about the issue, and I hope in time I can make a change.

College of Engineering Senator Candidates

James Reitmeier

Sophomore

Major: Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structures.

Issues of most concern to candidate:

The biggest concern of mine is strengthening the UNO pride. Since UNO is now Division I, the campus should begin to feel less like a small Division II and more like a larger Division I university. More Mojo on campus will help lead to a greater support off campus, bringing in larger crowds for sporting, music and fine art performances. A greater community interest will lead to a larger pool of perspective athletes and students. By growing in attendance and increasing our financial income will help lead UNO to a brighter tomorrow.
